Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD [is] a God of judgment: blessed [are] all they that wait for Him.
In today’s high tech world there are so many ways of communicating right from the plain old phone to text messaging online that the receiver can read on his cell phone.
My daughters and I live in different countries and often use the computer to chat. Sometimes right in the middle of an interesting conversation one of us will text, “gtg”, in other words got to go, because something very pressing demands our physical attention.
How often do we hang up on a friend because a kid needs attention, or someone is at the door or simply because we don’t feel like talking anymore?
I muse on those things and realize that God is so different. If you hang out with Him He will never give you any kind of a signal that He has “gtg”.
Here in Isaiah 30 He says that He will wait and wait not just to chit chat but to be gracious to us, to have mercy on us and then be blessed.
Don’t feel discouraged with chat sessions left half done, with conversations that did not finish or with friends or family abruptly saying, “gtg”. Remember... He is always waiting and there is nothing more important to Him than you.
